A History of Innovation

Established in 1946 by Allen Timney, Timney Triggers was founded to fulfill the need for easy-to-install, single-stage triggers for shooting enthusiasts sporterizing military rifles in the post-WWII era. Allen built triggers for bolt-action rifles such as Mausers, Springfields, and Enfields, and Timney quickly gained recognition as the aftermarket trigger company for bolt-action rifles.

Allen Timney retired in 1981 and sold Timney to Paul and Rosemary Vehr – the parents of the current company owner and president. Paul and Rosemary ran the company until 1999, when they agreed to sell it to their son John, who had been working in the family business since 1994 and served as general manager. Unfortunately, three days after the 2000 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show, Rosemary Vehr passed away. Five weeks later, Paul also passed away, leaving the unsigned sale contract on his desk. John eventually bought Timney Triggers from his siblings and immediately began investing heavily in technology, cutting-edge machinery, personnel, and most importantly – a customer-centric mindset.

By focusing on quality and customer satisfaction, Timney Triggers quickly became the standard for aftermarket triggers. By innovating and listening to their customers, Timney now produces over 170 models of triggers for bolt-action rifles, shotguns, AR rifles, and semi-automatic rifles.

Today, Timney Triggers operates from a state-of-the-art 25,000 sq. ft. facility, featuring the latest technology and machinery running around the clock. Although Timney has been in business for over 70 years, it remains a company built on the finest people in the industry, crafting the best triggers in the world for the most loyal customers.
