Sharpening instructions: • Hone both sides of the blade first using a coarse sharpening stone in the direction of the blade until a "twist" forms at the edge. • Grind off the twist using the smoother side of the sharpening stone. • Use water while sharpening. • Clean and dry the blade thoroughly. • Sharpen the knife regularly to avoid needing a demanding single sharpening. Sheath care: • Treat the knife sheath with leather conditioner if necessary. Knife maintenance: • Do not wash the carbon steel knife in a dishwasher. • Always dry and clean the blade after use. • Keep the knife in the sheath and store it in a dry place. • Occasionally treat the carbon steel with cooking oil or paraffin oil.
