KARSKI Backcountry Skis 200cm Pair

KARSKI backcountry skis are designed in Finland and crafted with precision to achieve optimal functionality. They are exceptionally suited for winter touring or hunting in Finnish terrain. The KARSKI backcountry ski measures 200cm in length, which is optimal for navigating through forested areas. Longer skis make turning in tight woods or brush difficult, while shorter skis sink into the snow. The structure of the KARSKI skis is extremely lightweight, thanks to the CAP Foam construction. The KARSKI backcountry skis weigh only 1440g, and with the separately sold carrying spring binding, the total weight accumulates to just 1850g! With lightweight, 10cm wide skis, the journey is effortless. The 10cm width supports better than narrower skis, and the tightly curved tip glides smoothly over the snow surface. The CAP Foam structure provides the skis with rigidity while also ensuring necessary flexibility on soft snow, allowing the tips to rise above the snow surface. KARSKI backcountry skis feature a continuous groove running the entire length of the ski base. This groove enhances directional stability. Without good grip, travel can be very challenging. The base of the KARSKI backcountry skis includes a 57cm long grip pattern in the center of the ski. In normal conditions, this grip base provides sufficient traction without waxing. If needed, the grip base can be waxed under challenging conditions. To maintain the wax, the grip area can be roughened using fine sandpaper (100-120) with gentle circular motions. Similarly, the glide of the KARSKI backcountry skis can be improved by treating the glide base sections with glide wax, just like normal skis.
