A good knife is safe to use. It fits comfortably and securely in the hand and can efficiently penetrate the surface being worked on. BLADE OF THE SISSIPUUKKO
The sharp, long-lasting blade measuring 12.5 cm is easy to sharpen when necessary.
Typically, carbon steel is prone to corrosion and rusts easily without proper care. However, the properties of carbon steel in the case of this tactical knife have been enhanced with various coatings for corrosion resistance. A hard yet resilient blade with versatile sharpening makes the Sissipuukko a tool that performs exceptionally in a variety of situations. However, it is not designed for impact tasks; for larger logs, it is wiser to use an axe. It is suitable for smaller wood as well as for clearing brush.
The knife's blade features a PTFE/Teflon coating that protects the carbon steel from rust and reduces friction and the adherence of contaminants to the blade. This coating also meets food safety certification requirements, appreciated by anyone who handles food, game, or fish with a knife.
HANDLE OF THE SISSIPUUKKO
The ergonomic handle of the Sissipuukko is designed to perform well under any conditions. With texture, grip, and a pleasant feel; this handle maintains a secure hold even in wet conditions and does not feel cold in chilly weather.
TPV (thermoplastic vulcanizate) does not absorb moisture and is resistant to chemicals and temperature fluctuations. The material withstands impact and wear almost indefinitely.
SHEATH OF THE SISSIPUUKKO
One of the main advantages of the Sissipuukko is its innovative sheath solution. Thanks to the rubber roller mechanism, the knife sits snugly in its sheath but can be drawn out quickly and easily with one hand, assisted by the thumb if necessary. The sheath's Velcro-attached belt loop is compatible with MOLLE and PALS systems, providing numerous carrying options. Carry the Sissipuukko on the straps of a backpack or a vest. Sometimes, it may be necessary to hang the knife in a different manner. The sheath of the Sissipuukko even allows for upside-down carry, e.g., in combat gear.
The leather sheath offers a traditional alternative alongside the composite option. A leather sheath is also available for left-handed users. A version adorned with the Lion coat of arms that embodies Finnish spirit is also available.
