Thanks to its snug fit, the magazine stays securely in the pouch with just adjustable compression, eliminating the need for a retention strap that typically crosses over the magazine. The absence of the retention strap speeds up magazine changes since there’s no additional movement required to move the strap aside. The TACO achieves speed comparable to a fully kydex competition pouch, with much more field-friendly and versatile features. An excellent choice for both competitions and training/military use.

This unique pouch is made from injection-molded polymer attachments, durable nylon, and shock cord, which expands and locks nearly any magazine in place.

The polymer edge prevents any slippage, and the magazine smoothly comes out of the pouch. Although the magazine exits the pouch easily, the pouch remains snug without the common looseness often found in AK and RK open pouches. It fits both slim .223 / 5.56mm and bulkier .308 magazines, making it compatible with almost all weapons thanks to the TACO design. Heckler & Koch’s own G36 magazines do not work with the TACO due to various protrusions, but there is no issue with Magpul 36G magazines. If additional retention is needed for activities like parachuting or other demanding tasks, this can be achieved by adding a retention strap to the pouch or adhering a small piece of hook-and-loop tape to the magazine, which sticks to the corresponding side inside the pouch. Adjusting the tape size can affect the resistance force.
