QuikClot Combat Gauze by Z-Medica is a kaolin-impregnated, z-folded dressing designed to control severe bleeding. Kaolin is an inorganic material that accelerates the blood clotting process. Combat gauze is recommended as a primary hemostatic dressing for life-threatening hemorrhages when a tourniquet cannot be used.
The Combat Gauze features a radiopaque strip. QuikClot does not contain animal protein, human protein, or any shellfish or plant-derived ingredients, making it allergy-free. Kaolin does not cause thermal reactions. The product is vacuum-packed with easy-open seams for quick access in emergencies, minimizing exposure to contaminants.
