The high-quality steel needle is sapphire-bearing, and the self-luminous markings facilitate navigation in low-light conditions, while the magnifying glass aids in precise map reading.
The compass displays scales in mils and degrees (6400/360), four Romer scales for accurate positioning, and a lanyard for measuring distances using the indicated scales.
